Warfare 2013 - Kallistra WW1 Game Preview

With Warfare only 3 weeks away, plans are well under way for the Wyvern Wargamers game at Warfare. Dane has been hard at work digging trenches and putting up barb wire and the game sponsored and supported by our good friends at Kallsitra promises to be HUGE albeit in 12mm scale.

Kallistra have an excellent new range of WW1 figures currently underway with plenty more planned with the forth coming 100th anniversary of the start of the 1st World War.

Check out the range here. http://www.kallistra.co.uk/

The plan is to use Through Mud & Blood from the Too Fat Lardies.

If you are going to the show stop by and say hello.

Cheers

Stu

  1. Not sure if I'm going or not, as it is my 50th on the Saturday. If I do go it will be the Sunday and I will pop by and say hello.

    1. Congratulations Steve, sounds like you will need to spend that Birthday money :-)
We are only doing the Sunday as like you many of us had other commitments, although I did try and convince the boss that a stop over would be a great weekend away unfortunately wargaming is not that attractive to the ladies.

  2. Looks pretty amazing. My only concern is the quite special scale... why go for 12mm instead of the established 10mm or 15mm?

    1. Largely because the guy's at Kallistra let us use their terrain and one of our club does a lot of painting for their demo games and this was a period where we could give something back..
With half a dozen of us at the club interested - £15 probably gets everyone enough for a reasonably sized game.

  3. Well Stu, what happened to the WWI game? We turned expecting to see trench heaven and all we saw was Murray chatting to a lady and a medieval game on pause...

Awaiting the possible sordid detail with interest;)

    1. Sorry Steve delay at the casters led to a delay in the painting, which led to a delay in the gaming.... all being well then the planned outing will be Halesowen in March...

    2. Thanks for the explanation Stu. I thought it might be something along those lines.

    3. About 5 of us have agreed to grab £15.00 worth of WW1 from Kallistra, I have drawn the plucky Belgiums but the HMG's have had to go back to the designer for redoing, still that gives be Christmas to up, there 5 for 6 offer should give each of us more than enough for regular size games.
